about us
Youth Media Network Association (YMNA), Bulgaria is glad to invite you to be a partner in the realisation of the My Vote for My Europe Project. The project is scheduled to take place between 1 May and 1 October 2009 and is currently applying for funding under the Youth in Action Programme (Democratic Citizenship Projects - 1.3. Activity).
The project's aim is to carry out a preliminary monitoring research on the perceptions of the young people between 17 and 27 towards their participation in the European Parliament votes and their active citizenship on the whole.
Every group from each country has to realize video interviews with youngsters. The topics are - the opinion about European Parliament votes, the vision of EU future with the main role of young people, the Contract of Lisbon, the problems of youngsters.
The video interviews from each country will be discussed and summarised, and drafted as a special document from each partner country representatives during a youth media conference "My Vote for My Europe" in Sofia, which is to be held between 9 and 13 May 2009 in Sofia, Bulgaria.
The results and the opinions of the partner youth NGOs under the project will be presented to the MEPs and advice them with regards to the necessity of developing a more effective way to motivate the young people to take active part in the process of decision-making in the EU.
We deliberately chose the partner countries to be Italy, Slovenia, Poland, Spain, Portugal, Hungary and Bulgaria since they are part of the different accession waves to the EU and as such, to be able to better study the European consciousness and citizenship perceptions of the youth in those countries.
We'll make sure that the results from that study and the project, and the young people's opinion on those issues will reach the members of the European Parliament and will hopefully advise them in their responsibilities and work for the young people. The output from the conference and the document created will be to the internet television channel and other official EU and EP media.
According to the Youth in Action Programme rules, each country must provide two partner organisations. We are asking each partner organisation to send a group of five (age: 17-27 years old) who are to participate in the youth media conference in Sofia, Bulgaria.
Travel expenses (75% of second class passenger train, economy class low-cost airplane tickets), accommodation in hotel and meals are covered by Youth Media Network Association.
Please, bear in mind that the deadline for submitting your signed and stamped Part III by mail is 26 January 2009 (Post address: 1220, Sofia, Bulgaria, quarter "Tolstoi", bl. 68, entr. G, ap. 59).
We are waiting for your confirmation and scanned Part III to the following e-mail address not later than 20 January 2009 - press@youthonline.eu.
Youth Media Network Association (YMNA) is a national, non-governmental and non-profit organization of the young journalists and media makers in Bulgaria. We unite school and university clubs of the young journalists as well as professional journalists and youth media.

We are looking forward to receiving your Part III and seeing you soon in Sofia,
Best regards:

P.S.
Dear friends, if you decide to take a part in the youth media conference, you have to be ready to take with you some traditional things from your culture (wearing or accessories). Be ready also for "Multicultural house beat night" on the 9 May (Day of Europe). You have to prepare short part of famous pop or folk song in your country and to sing it during the mixing of house music DJ - live in the club. This house mix is going to be the hymn of the project "My vote for My Europe"
